Pricing & Ad Support: The Free Tier of the Service is ad-supported. To provide these features without charge, we display third-party advertisements (such as Google AdSense) on our site. By using the Free Tier, you agree to receive and display these advertisements. You agree not to block, filter, or otherwise bypass advertisements (including through the use of ad-blocking software) while using the Free Tier. We reserve the right to modify our pricing structure, introduce ad-free subscription tiers, or transition features to paid plans in the future based on user feedback.
Service Interruptions: Because this is a beta service, we do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime, database persistence, or ad network connectivity.
Credit Resets: We reserve the right to reset all user game credits, token balances, and account balances at any time, including during the beta phase or upon its conclusion.
Account Requirement: You must register an account to access the workspace. Guest use is restricted.
Minors Under 13 & PII Isolation: If you are under the age of 13, your account registration is subject to parental or guardian consent. You will be locked out of the site completely and cannot use any features at all until a parent approves your account. Minors under 13 have restricted chat features (only safe canned emojis/phrases) and anonymous matchmaking names to protect their privacy. No real names, precise locations, or physical addresses are ever collected, stored, or allowed to be transmitted through the site for anyone.
Telemetry & Coach Data Sharing: By using the Service, you consent to the collection of gameplay telemetry and content feedback (such as puzzle likes and dislikes). This data is used strictly to run the AI engine, improve the site itself for all users, and optimize educational loops. We never use telemetry data for micro-targeting, marketing, or advertising. If a parent (for minors under 13) or the player (for players 13 and older) explicitly opts in, training telemetry and progress dashboards may be shared with and viewed only by chess coaches that you individually select and link to your account (sharing is never performed globally or with unauthorized coaches).
Communication Rules & Support Desk: We do not collect or store any player chat logs or message history. Free-form text chat in online PvP matchmaking is completely disabled for children under 13, who can only see and use safe emoji reactions (they are blocked from seeing or typing text chat, creating support tickets, and entering any free-form text on the site). Users 13 and older have access to full chat in PvP matchmaking. The only chat information collected on the platform is submitted through the support page by parents/guardians.
Account Security: You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial educational chess training.
Engines: The Service utilizes the open-source Stockfish chess engine (running client-side via WASM), which is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3 (GPL v3).
Isolation: In compliance with the GPL v3, this copyleft component is executed in an isolated client-side Web Worker.
License Access: Links to the GPL v3 license and the source code of Stockfish are provided in the footer of our main interface.
Our IP: All other code, prompt engineering logic, chess coach commentary dialogue schemas, system instructions, database schemas, styling elements, and HSL custom colors are the sole proprietary property of EloClarity LLC.
AI Metrics & Projections: Any gameplay statistics, "Human Error Probability" percentages, blunder rates, or difficulty metrics displayed during live play or game reviews are heuristically simulated estimations calculated based on position complexity and engine evaluation drops. These metrics are designed for educational and coaching purposes and do not represent direct real-time queries to a live player history database.
Restrictions: You may not copy, reproduce, reverse engineer, distribute, or create derivative works of our proprietary coaching prompts, lessons, AI communication with players, layout designs, or heuristics. Automated harvesting, scraping, crawling, or extraction of any content, databases, or training telemetry using spiders, robots, bots, scrapers, or other automated tools is strictly prohibited. You may not use any data or content from the Service to train, test, or fine-tune artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning models without our prior written consent.
Cheating Policy: To ensure a fair training and PvP environment, you are strictly prohibited from using external engine assistance, bots, or database helpers during online matchmaking games.
Termination: We reserve the sole right to suspend, terminate, or ban accounts flagged for cheating, fair-play violations, or harassment, without refund or prior notice.
No Warranties: THE SERVICE AND THE AI CHESS COACH ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS-IS" AND "AS-AVAILABLE" BASIS. ELOCLARITY LLC DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Liability Cap: TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL ELOCLARITY LLC, ITS FOUNDERS, OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF THE SERVICE.
Beta Cap: DURING THE FREE BETA PHASE, OUR TOTAL CIVIL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE SERVICE IS CAPPED AT $0.00.
Jurisdiction: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Individual Arbitration: Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be resolved through binding, individual arbitration in Virginia, and you waive the right to participate in any class-action lawsuit.
